Heterotrimetallic Double Cavity Cages: Syntheses and Selective Guest Binding

چکیده

Abstract A strategy for the generation of heterotrimetallic double cavity (DC) cages [Pd n Pt m L 4 ] 6+ ( DC1 : =1, =2; and DC2 =2, =1) is reported. The DC were generated by combining an inert platinum(II) tetrapyridylaldehyde complex with a suitably substituted pyridylamine Pd II ions. 1 H DOSY nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESIMS) data consistent formation architectures. shown to interact several different guest molecules. structure , which features two identical cavities, binding 2,6‐diaminoanthraquinone DAQ ) molecules was determined single‐crystal X‐ray crystallography. In addition, bind 5‐fluorouracil 5‐FU in statistical (non‐cooperative) manner. contrast, cage found guests, cisplatin selectively.

Guest control of structure in porous organic cages.

Two porous organic cages with different thermodynamic polymorphs were induced by co-solvents to interchange their crystal packing modes, thus achieving guest-mediated control over solid-state porosity. In situ crystallography allows the effect of the co-solvent guests on these structural interconversions to be understood.

Guest covalent capture by a host: a biomimetic strategy for the selective functionalization of a cavity.

A biomimetic strategy for the monofunctionalization of a calix[6]arene core is described. It is based on host-guest chemistry (mimicking the Michaelis-Menten adduct in enzymes) and allows the finely tuned pre-organization of the substrate (an alkyne) with respect to the reactant (three azido groups introduced at the calixarene large rim). It is shown that the thermal Huisgen reaction implemente...

Separation of rare gases and chiral molecules by selective binding in porous organic cages.

The separation of molecules with similar size and shape is an important technological challenge. For example, rare gases can pose either an economic opportunity or an environmental hazard and there is a need to separate these spherical molecules selectively at low concentrations in air. Likewise, chiral molecules are important building blocks for pharmaceuticals, but chiral enantiomers, by defi...

Cross-linked hyperbranched polyglycerols as hosts for selective binding of guest molecules.

The ring-closing metathesis reaction of dendrimers containing allyl ether end groups is known to rigidify them significantly. Herein we report that polyallylated hyperbranched polyglycerol (HPG) 1 complexes the sodium salt of rose Bengal in chloroform solution but releases it readily to water. In contrast, extensively cross-linking 1 with Grubbs catalyst provides 2 which similarly complexes ros...

Control of the cavity size of flexible covalent cages by silver coordination to the peripheral binding sites.

The synthesis of covalent cages consisting of two porphyrins connected by four flexible spacers each incorporating two 1,2,3-triazolyl ligands is reported. Binding of four silver(I) to the peripheral ligands induces conformational changes in solution and locks the porphyrins in a face-to-face disposition.
